Peyton List speaks about the hazards of texting and driving!
Over 425 teens, tweens and parents from the local community attended the event and pledged to not text while driving. It was a local event beyond the strip tool place to encourage teen drivers to stay off their phones.
A local event beyond the strip tool place to encourage teen drivers to stay off their phones, The District at Green Valley Ranch held a SHOP & TEXT, DON'T TEXT & DRIVE event on Saturday, Aug. 20th from 2pm - 4pm on Main Street by the courtyard.
The event featured a celebrity appearance by Disney Channel's Peyton List who spoke about the hazards of texting and driving. She also presented a video on the subject and held a Q&A session. List is known for her roles on Disney Channel's "Jessie," "Bunk'd" as well as films "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," "Remember Me," and "27 Dresses." The event featured special retailer offers, a DJ, music, free photo booth, and free temporary flash and henna tattoos.
The center also created a Don't Text & Drive Tips Booklet which was distributed to event attendees and local schools. The booklet featured tips, participating store discount offers and promoted teen centric retailers. AT&T also participated in the event and presented a Headset Simulator, which allowed participants to virtually experience the consequences of texting and driving through the use of the Samsung Gear VR. Vegas Scene Magazine had the pleasure of speaking with Peyton List and what a genuine and down to earth person. She is a very big advocate of NO texting and driving, expressing some of the dangers that can be avoided just by focusing on driving. She loves spending time in Las Vegas spending girl night out at the Sugar Factory and ride the roller coaster in New York New York. Modeling and Wicked the play, was one of the things that inspired her as a child and made her want to be involved in school plays. She currently has a few projects and tv shows that premiers in August and October.
